Blame It On the Sun

Setember 15th, 2004

Where Is My Spirit ?
I'm nowhere near it.
It seems dear love has gone away
So, I'll blame it on the sun,
The sun that wouldn't shine,
I'll blame it on the stars and the moon,
I'll blame it on the Time that never was enough.
I'll blame it on the love that ended once too soon
I'll blame it on the two that never were to be.
But, my heart blames it on Me.

Words and Music

by Stevie Wonder and Syreeta Wright

"And I am waiting for a Rebirth of Wonder"
Lawrence Ferlingetti/ "Coney Island of the Mind"
Without that childlike sense of wonder, the world grows cold, old, devoid of beauty, power, and fascination. You can find Wonder in the Faces of children when they are introduced to to the powers of Mother Earth. Blessed are the Children rolling in the mud, building sandcastles, or splashing in water underneath the hot sun. Blessed are those big grins and their uncontrollable laughter. Blessed are their open hearts.
A Rebirth of Wonder would be nice. NICE...it would be Amazing...Miraculous.Spectacular.Astounding.Neccessary.
I am Falling Asleep and and I can feel it ...It's like I'm being buried alive...Don't Let the Sun Go down On Me, she prayed. All I need is a little reincarnation. Two please. Straight up - No chaser. oh, skip it. Make it a bucket of Coronas with limes...That oughtta' get it.
The asthma does make it harder to breathe. Somebody throw that bucket of ice on me,please ! NO, No...Drink the Coronas, damnit !!! Geez !
Okay ...here's a bright spot. People are discovering my music on the web...and downloading the best tunes...so, that is something.
Today I saw a t-shirt in a shop window. Across the front was written the word FAITH ...I almost bought it .
There's an aching in my head. From the bed I an't get used to . All the little things we never said - haunt the Life I lead without you.

I stumble foward, awkwardly, clumsily, uncomfortably, wistfully, gratefully, sometimes cheerfully, and with a sense of conscience.
I'll choose that word "Grateful" for today.
